Edward Van Halen's guitars
ERNIE BALL MUSIC MAN EVH MODEL

Besides the quilted amber model, this was the most used guitar live. It also appears in a guitar ad with Edward inside him home studio.

The guitar specs are:
  • Measures: 12-5/8" wide, 1-3/4" thick, 36-1/4" long;
  • Weight: 7 pounds, 4 ounces (varies slightly);
  • Body: basswood with bookmatched figured maple top;
  • Body finish: high gloss polyester;
  • Body sides and back: black colour with cream binding;
  • Bridge: Floyd Rose locking tremolo (lowers pitch only);
  • Neck scale: 25-1/2";
  • Neck radius: 10";
  • Headstock: 5-7/8" long;
  • Frets: 22, high profile, medium width;
  • Neck width (at nut): 1-5/8";
  • Neck width (at last fret): 2-3/16";
  • Neck: selected maple neck and fingerboard
  • Neck finish: gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend, matching color headstock;
  • Tuners: Schaller M6LA with pearl buttons;
  • Truss rod: adjustable;
  • Neck attachment: five bolts;
  • Electronics shielding: graphite acrylic resin coated body cavity and aluminum lined control cover;
  • Switch: 3-way toggle pickup selector;
  • Controls: 500 K.Ohm volume pot (with "Tone" button);
  • Pickups: two DiMarzio custom wound designed by EVH;
