This guitar is as rare as it gets... only three of them were made by Neal Moser (a californian luthier that has worked with Jimi Hendrix, Steven Still, David Crosby and others; he also worked with B.C. Rich and some current models still have the shape/design Neal created for them.
The guitar was built with the authorization of Van Halen, although there is no commercial affliation. Still as of today (and after some years of retirement), Neal is still building fine custom guitars.
The guitar specs are:
- Body: Van Halen shaped;
- Neck: maple;
- Fingerboard: rosewood;
- Frets: 24 frets;
- Nut: locking;
- Tuners: non-locking;
- Fret marks: Van Halen logo (mother-of-pearl);
- Markers position: 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st;
- Tremolo Unit: Floyd Rose, by Schaller;
- Controls: one volume knob.
The guitar we present here was signed by Michael Anthony in 1988.
