Edward Van Halen's guitars
PEAVEY WOLFGANG STANDARD/CUSTOM ROSEWOOD NECK

This guitar is both a standard model and a custom shop model. Although the components are standard, except for the fretboard and tuners keys, the modifications made her a certain kind of custom. And, when adding the rosewood fretboard, this guitar would be built in the Custom Shop.

Like the other Standard models , it's very similar to the EB/MM in many ways but the EB/MM has a little higher pitched tone and a slightly brighter sound that corresponds more to the earlier EVH sound, while the Wolfgang has a "warmer" tone.

It really makes sense when you consider the evolution of the Edward's sound (and also the band's). So as far as which guitar is better when it comes to tone... one would think that it totally depends on which tone you like the best. One can't really see liking this one and hating the other. They are just too similar.
