Two former Van Halen members (ex-vocalist Sammy Hagar and ex-bassist Michael Anthony) are said to be on the verge of forming a 'supergroup' that also include Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani.


The outfit, tentatively name Chickenfoot, is said to be headed for the studio this Summer to work on an album; Sammy himself has said:

"We've written eight, nine songs... when people hear the music, it's Led Zeppelin. It's as good as that. I know that's a mighty bold statement... we could rival Zep ".
