The headliners for this year's Soundwave Festival in Australia will be "the mighty" Van Halen.

David, Edward, Alex and Wolfgang will be the main attraction of the annual festival and will be showcasing some of the new sound material they have recording/mixing lately.
The band has toured "The Land Down Under" back in 1998, in support of their "Van Halen 3" album, with Gary Cherone and Michael Anthony as singer and bassist. After the amicable parting with Gary Cherone and the (not so amicable) separation with Sammy Hagar after the 2004 tour, the band as joined forces with David Lee Roth once again, also having replaced Michael Anthony with Wolfgang Van Halen.
So far, they have locked in 5 dates for an Australian tour to support a new album that should be out this Summer/Fall:
- Brisbane – September, 24th
- Sydney – September, 25th
- Melbourne – September, 30th
- Adelaide – October, 1st
- Perth – October 3rd
Other artists that will play this festival are Alice Cooper, Bad Religion, Panic at the Disco, Hole, Alter Bridge, All Time Now, Steel Panther, Sum 41, Yellowcard, The Used, Hollywood Undead, Sisters of Mercy, Machine Head, Danzig, The Damned Things, The Devin Townsend Project, among many others.
