This exceptional soundtrack reveals also what was happening inside Van Halen. A tornado... a confusion, a lot of situations that led to the Van Halen split with Sammy Hagar. Edward has said that he had to rewrite most of the lyrics because Sammy was insisting on knuckles, darkness, silence... as he originally wrote a longer lyrics for a song that eventually would be called "The Silent Extreme"; when asked to stick to 80s ~ 90s of lyrics, Sam unwillingly accepted and recorded his parts in little over an hour, after what he left the band to join his wife who was close to giving birth.
Alex and Edward wrote and performed an instrumental song called "Respect The Wind" where Alex plays keyboards while Edward is soloing.
